Smart Start of Forsyth County makes progress
each year in preparing young children for school.
Community Impact
Smart Start’s accomplishments are rooted in our commitment to support child care providers and educators by providing them with opportunities to continue learning, to support quality child care by providing families access to quality child care facilities, to support families by providing quality early learning and development updates, and to improve the health of our children ages birth to five by providing access to health services. Here are some accomplishments from 2006-2007:
Support of Educators
•134 early childhood professionals received scholarships to continue their education
Support of Quality Child Care
•365 new Early Childhood Educators enrolled in Technical Assistance Center
Support of Families
•1,978 parents/guardians received one-on-one consultation, counseling or crisis intervention services
Support of Health
•4,737 children received oral health assessments at 122 sites
