Smart Start of Forsyth County makes progress
each year in preparing young children for school.

Community Impact

Smart Start’s accomplishments are rooted in our commitment to support child care providers and educators by providing them with opportunities to continue learning, to support quality child care by providing families access to quality child care facilities, to support families by providing quality early learning and development updates, and to improve the health of our children ages birth to five by providing access to health services. Here are some accomplishments from 2007-2008:

Support of Educators
•1428 early childhood professionals attended a Smart Start training or workshop

Support of Quality Child Care
•282 families with 362 children received child care subsidies

Support of Families
•1728 families received child care resource and referral services

Support of Health
•5747 children received oral health assessments
