Our Community

Smart Start of Forsyth County serves a county with approximately 25,000 children under the age of 6. With about 23% of our community’s children living in poverty, Smart Start strives to provide free or low cost services to those in need, either directly or through our funded partner agencies. Smart Start also serves the parent who may not have a financial need, but who seeks support in their parental (or grandparental) role.

Smart Start of Forsyth County’s impact in our community is largely made possible by the work of state legislators to tell our story during the budgeting process. Smart Start also relies on local support from businesses and individuals.

A child’s potential is our community’s greatest asset. Smart Start hopes to give every child in Forsyth County the opportunity to maximize their learning potential.
