Supporting quality education.
Quality Education
Quality Education is at the core of Smart Start’s offerings. We envision a community in which all children, regardless of household income, receive the best early education in order to prepare them for kindergarten.
More at Four
Smart Start of Forsyth County provides More at Four, a pre-k program for up to 475 children in public
elementary schools, head start programs, nonprofit child care centers, and for-profit child care centers.
A collaboration with Imprints provides parent support to families of all children enrolled in More at
Four. This support provides the critical link between school and home to improve the likelihood of school
success. The goals of the More at Four program are to improve each child’s readiness for kindergarten,
to promote social-emotional growth, to identify needs of the child and help families get any services
they need, and to give parents information that will help them prepare their children for school success.
Services are also available in Spanish.

Resource and Referral

parents, either by phone or in-person, in order to provide parents with a list of referrals to the child
care programs that reflect their needs and preferences. Parent specialists will share information about
the star-rated license system and indicators of quality child care programs. Services are also available
