Contributions are fully tax deductible within the limits of federal and state laws. Non-cash contributions of service and time are not deductible. However, any expenses incurred for your service can be deducted. Under the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993, a deduction will be allowed for any gift of $250 or more if the donor has written substantiation from the receiving non-profit.
